OK guys so a lot of you have been emailing me and reaching out on social media asking me all sorts of questions about the documentary I’m filming this year. In particular a lot of you want to know about some of the content that’s going to be included so I thought I’d throw together a brief Blog with a couple of bullet points letting you know what it is that we intend to cover during this project, but before I do that I just wanted to let you know why we’re even doing this in the first place.

Over the last 9yrs as my journey has progressed and I’ve become increasingly passionate about social media I’ve had hundreds if not thousands of emails, direct messages, wall posts etc.… from people all over the world asking me everything from ‘how do I get onto the toilet’ through to ‘what are my top tips for traveling the world solo as a triple amputee/disable person’. Now as much as I’ve tried to answer those questions consistently (and I pride myself on personally replying to 99% of those emails) I thought that there must be a much more efficient way to get that info out there to help settle peoples curiosity and help those who really need the answers.

Now some of you will know that I started a Q&A on YouTube called ‘Out On A Limb’ which I’m hoping to pick back up again now that we’re in 2017 and that’s been great but I really wanted to dig deeper than that and use the platform of the documentary to be really raw and honest and reach as many people as possible to get those answers out there and a documentary seemed like the best way to do that.

Now the idea behind this is to be open & honest about the good times and the bad. I want to cover my life holistically and talk about everything I do & I want to do that to try and inspire as many people as possible by showing them that no matter what you’re going through in life and no matter how tough things seem there are ways to overcome those obstacles. I want to show people by sharing my experiences and the things I’ve learnt along the way to hopefully help them overcome their obstacles much quicker.

Now as I said I want this to be an inspirational piece, this isn’t an ego trip where I sit back and say I’ve achieved X, Y, Z aren’t I great, all hail me! I want to talk about all of the things I do because I know when I found someone back in the early days of my recovery who showed me what was possible it radically changed the course of my journey, because I saw what was possible I knew what was achievable and I want to pass that on to others.

So here are some of the things that we’re going to cover in the film:

-Joining the Royal Marines at 16

-Going to Iraq at 19

-The birth of my 3 children

-Leaving the Marines and ‘failing’ as a civilian

-Rejoining the Marines

-Getting Injured in Afghanistan

-My time in hospital

-My time in rehab

-Getting married to the women that stuck by me

-Travelling to America to get mentored and leaving my wheelchair behind for good

-Leaving the military to start again

-My journey since including gaining a fulltime job, being a fundraiser, a motivational speaker, rediscovering the gym, becoming a sponsored athlete, a gym owner, a mentor to others, an author and learning how to take all of the good that has happened since my injuries and passing it on to others.

Now that’s a brief over view of it, I think personally it’ll be much more detailed than that as I’ll be getting followed around for about 10 months but those are some of the keys points we’re looking to cover.

I really am motivated to make this the very best piece of work that I can as is Matt the filmmaker and it’s you guys and your support over the years that has pushed me to do this.

I’m excited to get it started, myself and Matt are both going to work extremely hard on this and I hope that it’s something that makes you guys proud and is a true reflection of how much I appreciate the support that you continue to give me through my social media, this will be my way of saying thank you.
